Six Lotorians were earlier attacked and abused by a sentient starship known as Tharsis, which employed sonic weaponry against them, apparently in a defensive pre-emptive strike. Among those that were attacked, was an eight year old Lotorian.
Witnesses suggest that this unprovoked attack occurred, allegedly because the sentient starship Tharsis witnessed an attack on one of the other ships in the Docking Hub earlier. The sound produced by Tharsis is rumored to be extremely high pitched capable of damaging or even rupturing hearing in species with hyper-sensitive hearing.
Tharsis is also rumored to have made a deliberate racial attack against the Lotorian race, by telling them to "Eat sonics," and then calling them, "furry little bastards." The attack quickly ceased, before the specter of the ship vanished and then immediately issued an apology from the ship itself.
